Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and, occasionally, host SportsNation. She started working for ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami at which time she worked with the producers of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. She was hired as an reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. She relocated to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at Fox2 News, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother was remarried to an architect from the naval profession named Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. The couple remained there in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, in which she was offered the opportunity of a job. As a senior at high school, but having a clear vision of what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta attended her local University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her preferences. It turned out that she was a fan of the campus, and the university offered an academic program that she liked. Her studies were completed and she received a scholarship to the University as a major in media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor for WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a part. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence prompted her. She, in turn, tried to meet his standards and not fail him.
